About

Former Secretary of State and Democratic Presidential Nominee, Hillary Rodham Clinton

In 1996, while a second year law student, Rick Nagel got involved in the political process. He began working on the Siegelman for Governor campaign raising over 9 million dollars and unseating an incumbent governor. Since then, Mr. Nagel has worked with Governors, Members of Congress, and state legislators. He has successfully represented non-profit organizations as well as major domestic and European corporations at the federal and state levels of government.

In 2002, Mr. Nagel was hired by the Charles Consulting Group, LLC as the Vice President of Government Affairs. He represented numerous clients with divergent interests and specialized in federal appropriations. During his tenure with the Charles Group, he had a 100% success rate with all clients seeking federal appropriations.

Mr. Nagel has advised clients on federal appropriations, health care, education, defense, internet safety, federal drug policy, homeland security and federal law enforcement issues as well as the development and implementation of grassroots advocacy strategies. Mr. Nagel has also advised clients in Virginia, Ohio and Idaho concerning bail reform and other issues affecting the commercial bail industry.

Mr. Nagel holds a J.D. from The Thomas Goode Jones School of Law and a B.A. from The University of North Carolina.

Highlighted Accomplishments
  • Managed the South Carolina Democratic Party’s tribute to Congressman Jim Clyburn featuring President Bill Clinton. The event raised $700,000 – the largest amount ever raised for any event in the organization’s history.
  • Coordinated the South Carolina Democratic Party’s annual fundraiser, the Jefferson Jackson dinner attracting a record crowd of over 1,300 people and raised over $400,000 – a record for the annual event.
  • Raised the largest amount of campaign funds in an Alabama gubernatorial race to date, over $9.3 million was raised for a statewide campaign.
