Highlights

• Managed the South Carolina Democratic Party’s tribute to Congressman Jim Clyburn featuring President Bill Clinton. The event raised $700,000 – the largest amount ever raised for any event in the organization’s history.
• Coordinated the South Carolina Democratic Party’s annual fundraiser, the Jefferson Jackson dinner attracted a record crowd of over 1,300 people and raised over $400,000 – also a record for the annual event.
• Raised the largest amount of campaign funds in an Alabama gubernatorial race to date, with over $9.3 million raised for a statewide campaign.

Federal 

Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Policy

• Worked with Members of Congress on federal funding for an internet safety non-profit to help keep children safe while using the internet. Successfully achieved a $3M earmark for this client.
• Worked with the Office of Justice Programs within the Department of Justice on budgetary language to fund internet safety programs.
• Created strategy for a healthcare client and worked with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to establish a pass through payment for Medicare Part B.
• Assisted client with a federal marketing strategy helping client achieve $17M in aircraft sales.
• Worked successfully with Members of Congress and staff to implement a regional law enforcement information sharing system.
• Drafted legislative language to include law enforcement information sharing technology in authorization and appropriation legislation.
• Currently working with a corporate client that has developed software to ensure the private data of children is protected. Currently developing strategy for the client to interface with Congress and the Federal Trade Commission.

Healthcare Policy

Created a strategy for a healthcare client and worked with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to establish a pass through payment for Medicare Part B.

Telecommunications Policy

• Worked with senior leadership to develop legislative strategy to promote an information management standard. Helped craft a business model to develop fast lanes to increase content streaming.
• Interfaced with corporate officers of major U.S. and European telecommunications providers on net neutrality and anti-piracy issues.
• Currently working with a cryptocurrency startup on federal policy to implement blockchain technology.

Immigration Policy

Represented client in Congress on immigration issues focusing on detention and release issues as it pertains to federal immigration bond policy.

State

Virginia: Immigration and Transportation Policy

• Drafted an immigrant driver’s license bill and worked closely with several key Senators and Delegates including the Chairman of the House Transportation Committee.
• Successfully drafted criminal justice and commercial bail legislation in Virginia and worked closely with members of the House Courts of Justice Committee and key Senators and Delegates. This legislation was enacted and signed by the Governor.

Virginia, Ohio, Idaho, and Minnesota: Commercial Bail and Preventive Detention Policy

• Represented surety companies before legislative and judicial officials in the above states.
• Drafted legislation and testified before state legislative committees.
• Managed and participated in grassroots social media campaigns.
